Huzayfah Algaheim, Rehman Abdul, Konstantin Gerantidi Obituary, Death - Three Teens Killed in Belt Parkway Crash

Three teenagers were killed in a devastating crash on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, New York, Tuesday night, leaving multiple families grieving the loss of three young lives and prompting renewed concerns about dangerous driving.

The victims were identified as Huzayfah Algaheim, 18, Rehman Abdul, 16, and Konstantin Gerantidi, 17. The teenagers died following a violent collision involving a Cadillac Escalade near 65th Street in Brooklyn.

Three Teens Killed in Belt Parkway Crash

According to information from police and sources familiar with the investigation, the crash occurred at approximately 11:35 p.m. when a black Cadillac Escalade carrying five young occupants was traveling along the Belt Parkway.

Investigators said the SUV’s driver, Algaheim, reportedly braked before the vehicle was struck from behind. The collision sent both vehicles into a guardrail, after which the Escalade spun and overturned.

Algaheim and two passengers were reportedly ejected during the crash and suffered catastrophic injuries.

Emergency responders transported the victims to area hospitals, but Algaheim, Abdul, and Gerantidi later died.

Two other occupants of the SUV, both male teenagers aged 16 and 18, survived. Police said they were transported to Maimonides Medical Center and were listed in stable condition.

Huzayfah Algaheim Remembered

Huzayfah Algaheim, 18, was among the three young people whose lives were lost in the crash.

Information emerging during the investigation also drew attention to Algaheim’s previous driving history. Sources indicated that he had been cited for reckless driving and speeding on the Belt Parkway approximately seven months before the fatal collision.

Authorities also reportedly noted that his driver’s license had previously been suspended in connection with speeding violations.

Those revelations have added another painful dimension to a tragedy already devastating several families.

Remembering Rehman Abdul

Rehman Abdul, 16, was remembered by relatives as a respectful and responsible teenager with a promising future.

His family was reportedly shocked by the circumstances surrounding the crash and the information about previous traffic violations involving the driver.

Relatives said they believed Rehman would not knowingly have entered a vehicle with someone they considered dangerous behind the wheel.

According to family members, Rehman and his friends had spent the evening together before beginning their journey home. One relative recalled speaking with him shortly before the crash, when he said he expected to arrive home within minutes.

Instead, his family received devastating news.

Abdul’s death has left a profound void among his relatives and friends, who are now remembering him as a beloved son, nephew, and friend.

Konstantin Gerantidi Mourned

Friends, relatives, and members of Konstantin Gerantidi’s community are also mourning his death.

At just 17 years old, Konstantin had his future ahead of him when his life was suddenly cut short.

Tributes have continued to emerge for all three teenagers as friends and loved ones share memories and messages of support.

The loss of three young people in a single crash has left those who knew them struggling with grief and disbelief.

Investigation Into the Belt Parkway Crash

Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the sequence of events that resulted in the vehicles striking the guardrail and the Escalade overturning.

Authorities are also expected to examine factors that may have contributed to the crash as the investigation continues.

Additional information could be released as investigators establish a clearer picture of what happened that night.

Road Safety Concerns

The deaths have renewed conversations about speeding, reckless driving, and roadway safety, particularly among younger motorists.

For the families affected, however, the tragedy is much more than a discussion about traffic violations. They are mourning sons, friends, relatives, and young people whose lives and futures have been abruptly taken away.

The crash serves as a painful reminder of the consequences that can follow dangerous decisions behind the wheel and the importance of responsible driving.

A Community Remembers

For the families of Huzayfah Algaheim, Rehman Abdul, and Konstantin Gerantidi, the days ahead will be filled with grief as they prepare to say goodbye.

Their loved ones are choosing to remember the teenagers for who they were—their personalities, friendships, family relationships, memories, and hopes for the future—rather than allowing the circumstances of the crash to define their lives.

Huzayfah Algaheim, Rehman Abdul, and Konstantin Gerantidi will be deeply missed by their families, friends, and everyone whose lives they touched.

May their families find strength and comfort during this heartbreaking time, and may the memories of the three young men remain with those who loved them.
