The Green Bay community is mourning after a deadly multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on State Highway 172 over the Fox River Bridge left one man dead and a woman injured Saturday night.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 22, 2026, after reports of a collision involving two vehicles and a motorcycle traveling westbound across the bridge.

Motorcyclist Dies After Highway 172 Crash

According to preliminary information from authorities, the crash involved a Honda CBR motorcycle, a Dodge Journey, and a Porsche Macan.

The motorcycle was operated by a man from the Village of Allouez. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

His identity has not been publicly released.

The fatality has left the man’s family and loved ones facing a devastating loss as investigators work to determine exactly what happened.

Woman Injured in Green Bay Motorcycle Crash

The driver of the Dodge Journey was identified as a 75-year-old Green Bay woman. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was later released after suffering suspected minor injuries.

The Porsche Macan was driven by a 20-year-old Green Bay man. Authorities did not immediately provide information about whether he suffered injuries.

Highway 172 Closed During Investigation

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate the collision and document evidence.

All four westbound lanes of WIS 172 between Webster Avenue and Oneida Street were closed while investigators processed the scene. The roadway remained shut until approximately 2 a.m., about four and a half hours after the initial crash.

The closure caused disruption for motorists traveling through the area while authorities conducted their investigation.

Police Seek Witnesses

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or was present in the area at the time to come forward.
